Must be just luck of the draw on the phone agents. A week or so ago I reserved a stay for April 2010 on the phone and stated that I wished to use one of the next upcoming batch of suite upgrades on it and it was no problem whatsoever. The rep checked by account to insure I will be Diamond thru Feb. 2011 and then went ahead. My count of suite upgrades expiring 2/28/10 was unchanged and presumably I'll see one already redeemed on 3/1.
Of course on or about 3/1 I'll double-check everything...
I had a similar experience when I wanted to upgrade an early April stay. I just called the diamond line and said I wanted to apply a suite upgrade to a reservation. The diamond rep went ahead and called the hotel and then told me that since I will have diamond status until Feb 2012, she would put a note on my account that hyatt would apply one of my new upcoming suite upgrades when I get them.
There was no mention of when I would get new upgrades in my account, but it didn't seem to matter since she still confirmed my suite upgrade
