oops...sorry...i did this trip from SFO early last year and no same day connection to HKT was available.

having said that, i would choose ANA/TG combo over Asiana (and the following is my opinion) because:

- I enjoy ANA catering more than ASIANA (jap vs korean food, imho, the western food served on both are about the same).
- ANA imho has better service by a little bit though ASIANA is just as good. TG is good for the most part, it can be a hit or miss.
- Although slanted, all ANA 777s have lie-flat seats, and have AVOD (may be a hit or miss on ASIANA). Can't comment on TG as I've only been in C on their A330s.
- I enjoy the ANA Lounge in NRT more than the ASIANA lounge in ICN
- You get to try two different airlines ANA/TG
- You go through immigration in BKK, and only luggage pick up/inspection in HKT, as compared to immigration/customs in HKT when coming in from ICN.
- I rather arrive HKT an hour earlier (even though the arrival times are both very late, to me, kinda scary unless you have pre-arranged transporation)


Can you do ANA/TG on the outbound and ASIANA on the return or vice versa? (then do a trip report )
