As long as they were escorted, what is the big deal? I doubt they were out there on their own, just hoping to see an A380.

A few years back at DTW, when they were doing construction on the C concourse, they boarded some CRJs from the international gates at A. I guess the plane could have been inbound from Canada too and needed access to immigration. We had to walk down the stairs of the Jetway and then across the ramp. It was quite a different view of the 747 than I am used to, especially parked next to the CRJ.
