I did get a recommendation when in Inverness for a Scottish chip shop in London but given the time since then I've forgotten, sorry.

I can vouch for Mickys Fish & Chips in Paddington which is excellent if you are after good chips (I'm told the fish is excellent too but I'm VLML so I don't know about that). I recently discovered that one Heston Blumenthal used to go there as a child it was featured in one of his tv progs.
