but WestJet is a LCC and LCC and alliance don't mix.

They don't want to pay for interconnecting IT systems, baggage transfer, provide lounges, pay for reciprocal lounge access.

Aer Lingus (EI) left oneworld in 2007 as it turned into an LCC to better compete with RyanAir (FR), then got partially bought by FR
