(I have to say with the "lively" discussion I'm curious to try Weatherspoons to find out which side of the "WS divide" I'll come down on )

As a side note my wife's favorite parts of a trip are usually the meals so I'm trying to make sure I plan accordingly.

Great suggestions, keep them coming if you have them, these are very helpful.

Not a problem at all.

If you'll be at the British Museum, you may wish to try the North Sea Fish Restaurant on Leigh Street WC1. I have had literally four different sets of friends (not from London) all tell me about this wonderful place - and then get the joy of watching their faces when I tell them I used to live a few doors down.

If you're at the Tower, you're only about a 10-minute walk away from Brick Lane. If you're up for curry (the British word for "Indian food") then I recommend Muhib at #73. I have been there probably three dozens times over the years and it has never let me down once.

I don't know Stamford Bridge or Chelsea at all so I can't help there.

I definitely second Jenbel's suggestion of Charlotte Street - there are a few dozen restaurants of various types up and down the street, most have mains that run between £10 and £20.

If you don't mind my asking, what sort of budget are you aiming for? That might help further refine.

Cheers
