Delta has some of the worst (at least from a passanger's inerior perspective and no IFE) B767's in service. If anything, I would hope for those to be retired and replaced with the superior NWA A330s, that have the lie-flat (slightly angled, "Minbari style") seats in FC and overall better interior, decent IFE system (though a bit slow to respond and its Linux server can crash from time to time), more overhead storage, etc.
I would say that you have Miss-characterised the 767 fleet as much as the OP miss-characterized the AB.

Yes there are some pretty beat up 767's with no AVOD but I flew one LAX-ATL and back last week that had AVOD throughout and was very comfortable and fresh. I will now take a DL 76 over a NW 75 any-day and I am a NW guy who was afraid of the size of the 76 fleet. The 767 ac that have been updated are in-fact great from a passenger standpoint.
