Night flights should have as few disturbances as possible I agree - except when we go into turbulence and the Captain puts the seat belt sign on - and again sorry - we have no options on that one.
Oddly, I don't think I have once been woken up by turbulence (or an announcement about it). I like to think that if the plane fell out of the sky in the middle of the night (like that AF plane from Brazil) I'd be blissfully unaware of what was happening.
