No idea...but if your friend is flying to Japan on a OW carrier, you can buy the ticket for 10,000 yen + tax.

And you can watch the availability, right now JAL2242 and JAC2244 on April 14 only accepts waitlisting. Check back tomorrow to see if they open up

Edit: Just check, is your flight JAC2250? It is accepting waitlist booking for that flight if you use the Japanese website and is a Japan JMB member.
