I don't think anyone is claiming elites aren't the source of the problem (or at least a significant contributor). Rather, I would say most hotels bandwidth provisioning model per user is inadequate. Yes there is a cost for increasing bandwidth per user and yes that cost needs to be factored into room rates; however, if hotels maintain the status quo their Internet service will become flat out unusable. So then the hotels that do choose to provision adequate bandwidth will get more customers (better occupancy rates and revenue per room) and the hold outs will find themselves losing customers. The market will eventually correct this issue. I just wish it was sooner rather than later and that hotels generally upgraded their networks to support streaming media for their guests. My two cents....
