Last fall when they modified the SYD service and cut back to 6 days a week, the date I was supposed to fly back was on the day that they cut. So they rebooked me on the next day's flight SYD-LAX but left my LAX-MEM connection on the original day. At first I was excited that Delta had perfected time travel but a call to SMS clarified that they had not; time travel is still not possible and therefore connections can't occur in the past.
Any notification of this change was also non-existent, but that really is the rule it seems rather than the exception.
