Firstly, you did not get your own Internet. You got Internet access.

That aside, there is significant cost involved with the idea you propose, from additional local network infrastructure to the extra backhaul required to support such a thing. Should the Internet access have been more usable? Sure. But it is a shared resource and unfortunately many hotels do not plan accordingly.

I think I would rather see free Internet access as a plat arrival gift option at full service properties rather than have Marriott try to run multiple networks at every property (not gonna happen).
