im also a college student..In the past year i've found ways to rack up more miles than i have ever imagined thanks to FT and without flying that much. Now i just have to decide what to go with all of them! Did the coin thing and i was a bit shocked to see my end of the year statement from my credit card...i think i went a little overboard. lets just say im glad my card didn't get canceled or sent in for a Financial review
I think the OP should try to churn some coins..though opportunities might be limited at this point. Also bookmark this page and check back often for any new schemes or Credit Card sign up bonuses. For example: I Signed up for the BA card and got a 100K miles. If you don't fly that much, i would just stick to a regular cash back card... i mean you might get huge sign up bonuses with an airline or hotel card, but it's going to take you a lot of time to build up your account totals seeing you don't spend that much.. At this point cash seems to be a better option as you can use it for anything and not limiting yourself to just travel...
