Availability is definitely far lower than it has been for any sustained period in the past few years.

The cynical view would be that BA kept good redemption availability and low sale fares on this route to stop the cost-conscious club-class traveller switching to MY,E0 and Y7, waiting until all those airlines went bust. This then continued for a bit due to the recession, but now it's getting back to business as usual.
