If you’re buying a carry-on this may not be relevant but I have a polycarbonate 29” Salsa which hasn’t held up well. If I had it to do over again I’d buy the aluminum version. After two years and maybe 20 international trips it now has several 6-8 inch cracks in the plastic and the telescoping handle mechanism has been damaged to the point where it doesn’t work properly. In fairness to Rimowa, this damage resulted from one traumatic off-loading in an extremely cold environment but it was still disappointing.
