One more question comes to mind. I see if I want to cross the border by car, I have to purchase additional insurance. Can I do it at the border, or always with the rental company? For example if I'm not sure if I'll have the time to cross and decide in the middle of the trip?
Sounds strange probably, but you can (and must of course) buy insurance when crossing into Turkey without one.
