I would just like to say that I have had the odd excellent Black Cab driver, one who was preapred to drive like a demon to get me to Paddington for my train and overtook loads of people on the Westway.

And when I was supposed to be met by a car at Elstree Aerodrome (the word dump doesn't cover it) and the car appeared to be a no show, a black cab driver offered to drive me back into central London for nothing as he wanted some company. The flying school that is based at Elstree had cancelled all the lessons for the rest of the morning due to very low ceilings and strong winds and the cab pax had therefore become a no show. Sadly I had to refuse this kind offer as my firm would have been charged a massive amount for not taking the booked car, which it turned out was there, the driver had made no effort to attract my attention though and had just sat in his car waiting And to top it off he tried to get me to sign for wait time, which I refused and told him where to go.
