I agree with post #43 and others expressing similar sentiments. There are a lot of legitimate reasons why a passenger could be upgraded in this situation.

As for flirting, big hairy deal. Two people interested in each other? Horrors!

What's next -they might actually go out on a date? An FA getting together with a passenger? Surely, this has never, ever happened before! (Anyone recall how former Quebec Premier Lucien Buchard met his wife? Google it.)

We should be encouraging more FA upgrades, not less.

We could also do with more flirting, IMO.
