I've been Diamond for years and I don't think I've ever seen an upgraded room at a Hampton. I get the same type of room, end of hall, 3rd or 4th floor all the time.
Maybe upgrade at Hampton means upper floor?
I am glad you were assigned a room at the end of the hall. I was given the room next to the elevator last week even though my profile states that I want a quiet room away from the elevator. The front desk said they didn't have any other rooms even though I checked in at 6 PM.
