I stayed at this hotel for a few nights in January. The standard rooms are not that large, but the bathrooms are nice and we had a balcony view over the Nile and you could see the Pyramids in the distance (through the thick smog, of course).
The hotel's service/staff were really quite good. The Grand Club was very well appointed, had two levels, a nice selection of fresh juices, and very attentive staff. Free wireless internet access in the Grand Club if you have a laptop/mobile device. Breakfast assortment was a mix of European/Middle Eastern dishes as well as cooked-to-order omelets (a nice touch). The staff at the Grand Club level desks were very helpful in providing maps, points of interest, making reservations at nearby restaurants, and helping with any on-property questions or issues.
In the evening, you could go to the 40th floor (lounge to the rotating restaurant) where you could get free alcoholic drinks from 6pm-8pm. Beer, wine, or standard mixed drinks were available, as well as a rotating hors d'oeuvres selection each night consisting of various hummus-style dips, crackers/toasted breads, pickled vegetables, olives, and seafood appetizers. There were also hors d'oeuvres each night from 6pm-8pm in the Grand Club itself, but they did not serve any alcoholic drinks there.
One useful tidbit is there is an ATM on the "Food Court" of the hotel, one floor below the main lobby. You can take the elevator from your room level all the way down there and the ATM is just around the corner from the elevator bank. This was very convenient, and if you need smaller bills for taxis and such, you can have the currency exchange desk on the main level change your larger bills for no cost. This is recommended as taxis do not like to make change for you.
You could arrange for the Hyatt to pick you up at the airport, but I believe the charge started at $80 USD for one person and went up from there, depending on how many people and what type of car you wanted. We were able to take a taxi from the airport to the Grand Hyatt for about 80 Egyptian Pounds (incl. a 10 Pound airport tax). You may be able to negotiate this further if you wanted to.
I would not hesitate to recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt Cairo.
