Well, in theory there would be fewer people on the standby list, right? (i.e. people who don't want to pony up the extra $50) That should free up the GAs a bit as they won't have to spend as much time clearing the standby list, paging people, handing out new boarding passes, etc. That may help GAs get people boarded more quickly and close out flights faster.
