AA flights usually show up within 4-5 days, and I haven't had a problem in the last 3 or 4 years.
Nevertheless, if you call before the stated time period has lapsed (i.e. 15 days), they tell you to wait.
I had a problem on Lan Chile recently regarding mileage posting. Usually, Lan Chile flights show up within a week. However, this time, one of my flights showed up almost instantaneously while the connection failed to show. When I called AA, they said to wait 60 days-- so I had to put a reminder note in my computer and store my ticket and boarding pass safely. On the 61st day, I called and they were able to fix the mistake (the ticket had been issued on AA ticket stock, which enabled them to see the itinerary). Still, it was kind of a hassle having to wait out the 60 day period when it seemed pretty obvious (at least to me) that a flight segment had gone missing.
