Flight time change - what to do?
Hi,
this Friday/Saturday I'll be going SFO-LHR-BCN on a cheap, non-changable ticket with BA. However, BA has changed the time of the LHR-BCN flight so that I'll have to wait over five hours in LHR. Sucks. There is an earlier flight and I'd like to get rebooked to that one (had a similar experience with Air France recently and they rebooked me for free without hassle).
I tried to get in touch with BA, but this prooves to be very difficult. They try to fned you off when you call and when you insist they tell you you'll have to wait ages. What's more, there hotline service hours are very short (I'd expect a 24 hr hotline from a global carrier).
Only once I got to talk to a human there. She told me she wouldn't do anything for me but I should do everything through my travel agent (which is expedia.fr in this case). But she also told me that the earlier flight was probably fully booked. So I sent an e-mail to expedia.fr, but they just ignored me.
So today I tried calling BA again, but in vain. I understand that they can't rebook me if the earlier flight is full. But maybe there is a waiting list? Who could I ask about that?
What's more: I suspect that the flight I'm booked on is actually overbooked. So I though I could offer them to fly on Sunday from LHR to BCN (instead of Saturday) if they arrange accommodation for me @LHR. I don't mind where I spend that night. But who should I talk to about that? How would I go about it?
I have no special status in the Executive Club. I do fly around quite a bit, but always with different airlines.
TNX for your input!
