Decontructing a TWA/AA ad (re: Elites, miles)

Today's NY Times has an ad from TWA/AA.

Selections follow (with my comments):
____________________
What being an AAdvantage member means to you.

Now that the sale is approved, Aviators members who enroll in the American Airlines AAdvantage program will receive AAdvantage miles for the full balance in their Aviators portfolios, once the TWA Aviators program ends in approximately six months....

MY NOTE- There's no mention of converting TWA miles into existing AAdvantage accounts!

...Additionally, at that time, Aviators privilege card members will receive equivalent privilege card status in the AAdvantage program for the currrent membership year.

My note:

Okay- six months from now is sometime in October. The current membership year ends in 02/02, right? In my reading of it, current TWA elites would get approx. 4 months of status on AA. Sounds like a big penalty to Aviators members who are still putting their 2001 flight miles toward TW and not AA!
