Also remember that the last week of March/First days of April will be Semana Santa in Latin America. Costa Rica take this seriously and the beach areas will be experiencing a high season for that week. Prices will be up and availability will be down especially at the beach.

If you can drive in South Florida, you'll be fine in Costa Rica, as long as you have a general idea where you are going and are not to hung up on getting there anytime soon. Some of the things you'l see when you are lost are better than where you were going anyhow.
