I appreciate the info. I'm still conflicted, though. My biggest concern is that because it took American six months to respond to my initial request, and because I've been flying United this whole time, I'm in danger of missing Platinum next year if I switch at this point. And Premier Exec status on United is pretty much worthless--compared to 1K

Does anyone have experience with making pleas for a higher tier when one or two miles/segments short of the next highest status?
