William -- all of your points are certainly fair enough and I hear you on the softening economy. It's hit almost ALL of us hard over the past 3 years. I'm certainly not exempt, nor is my employer.
And, in fairness, I have never been privy to the Brand Standards Manual for any hotel chain, but as an observant consumer, I also think it's fair to say that Four Points aggressively marketed and advertised their relationship with Seattle's Best Coffee in the US. For a few months, it was in every copy of USAToday that I read. There were four key components to that ad campaign, and I am fully sure that one was the Four Comforts Bed and the other was Seattle's Best Coffee.
My only point is that the sudden change is this "partnership" is lamentable.
