Advice on hotel changing rate prior to check-in
So I'm sitting on a booking for a 1-night stay in March at a hotel in Dublin.
While it is a personal stay, I booked using our corporate rate (allowed by our company). Today, I received an e-mail from the hotel indicating that the rate was incorrectly loaded in their system, and it would be ~$20 higher. I just checked my reservation online, and they have proceeded to change the rate. Note that our corporate booking code doesn't tell me a specific rate; it's just a corporate code to enter when booking.
Of course, I have a printed confirmation showing the original rate. In theory, I could always just bring that and tell the front desk staff that I never received any notification of a rate change.
Any suggestions? Obviously I could cancel the stay, but don't want to. I am thinking of writing them back telling them that given the circumstances, they should either honor the rate, or provide a breakfast or room upgrade.
Clearly, this wasn't me taking advantage of a 'mistake fare'; so it seems a bit cheap of the hotel to come after me for $20.
Thanks.

Reason: Add clarity on corporate rate.
