A few musings (even though I never read this thread):
1. I just booked a ticket on delta.com and for the first time ever I have an
all-numeric PNR. I've never seen it before or heard of anyone else having this. I've had many all-alpha PNR's but never all-numeric. I wonder if I'll still get upgraded <g>
2. With the DM upgrade perks not being in place yet I think I'm royally screwed on my JFK-SEA flight this Friday. There are still 8 seats for sale up front but X is zero of course. With the blizzard that's going to hit NYC mid week I think every flight on Thurs & Fri and probably the weekend will get filled up with stranded passengers. That means X will never budge from zero and I'll be stuck in the back of the bus. Crappy timing for a big snowstorm in NY if you ask me
3. What is up with the Delta Plat line? It's a small detail but I really liked being greeted, "Hello Mr. RobOnLI. Thank you for calling Northwest...". When you call the Delta Plat line you get nothing but a "Hello. How can I help you?" It leaves me wondering if the agent got the screen pop of information based on my SkyMiles number and whether they know it's me or not.
4. The BS voice recognition system is horrible. I used to work in Call Center technologies and almost every customer I ever installed voice reco for pulled it out within a year. Not once have I gotten the Delta system to understand my SkyMiles number so I just enter it by phone pad now. Of course, even that fails 50% of the time and I have to re-enter it.
