I disagree with the reviews. We stayed at the Four Seasons for $1000US/night in a suite and were underwhelmed. Moved to the GH, booked AAA rate of $200US/night, used a Diamond Upgrade Certificate and was pleasantly surprised. There aren't that many new hotels in Cairo, and the GH exceeded my expectations. They even changed the rate to the Egyptian citizen rate and still allowed the upgrade.

The suite was spacious, both it and the club had amazing views of the nile, breakfast was offered in the restaurant if we wished, and the hotel has its own yacht. As someone who visits Cairo reguiarly, and has stayed in almost every hotel the GH will be my hotel of choice. Diamond recognition was fine, except they didn't understand what the e-cert was and expected a paper voucher, other than that was a great experience.
