I am new to this FF thing, so I apologize in advance if this is discussed and answered before, but I could not find it.

I have an AA FF account, but will (most likely) take a BA flight (they are both OneWorld partners). The flight does not show up on the AA site, so I cannot book it through AA – I will probably have to book it directly through BA, and it is not a code share flight. Can I earn AA miles on such a flight? How?
