Yes, try it on its own first. You may want to try something like a flexible chop-chop cutting board (chop-chop is a brand) in the mesh pocket to keep the shirts away from the mesh. But otherwise a folder shouldn't be needed and certainly no cubes are needed. Play around with it a little bit. It might take 2-3 packings to figure out the best way to pack it for you. In the packing notes I am giving a solution that worked for me. It can serve as a reference point for you but you'll probably not have the exact same packing list or organizational logic as me, so just give it a try. It will make you feel really good when you have figured out the most efficient way to pack.
