All these bags work great and after using the roll-up vacuum bags and blowing them all out, I also gravitated towards the big Ziplocks. They work the same ... there are actually some very large sizes - up to 5 gallons IIRC. Just place your clothes in, neatly folded, zip the top almost all the way closed ... just leave a couple of inches open and the roll up from the other end. I do find I can carry a lot more but my luggage does end up being pretty heavy!

When going a a sailing trip, I just hung the bags up in the very tiny stateroom closet by looping the handle over a clothes hanger.
