The unfortunate ending to my story is that although there WAS AA Anytime Award availability on the dates that I wanted it was NOT available when I called BA. I even tried a few days before and after my original arrival and departure dates, and was flexible as to what island I flew to and from, but still nothing.

In the end, it is obvious that BA does not get access to AA's full available inventory.
