Now that I have my next SIN visit booked (for October '10), I have been puttering around trying to figure out the opening status on the long-awaited $5.5 billion Marina Bay Sands, Sheldon Adelson's big project (on top of his interests in Vegas and Macau).

The thrust of the news appears to be delayed opening until not earlier than April '10 and even then with only a portion of the hotel and, it appears, other facilities completed. It is also less than clear when SIN's CRA (Casino Regulatory Authority) is going to issue the Sands' gaming license.

Curiously, it is not yet possible to book a room @ MBS via the MBS website. At the same time, the Inter-Pacific Bar Association is having its annual convention there in early May, with room rate packages quoted at SGD365 and up.

So, beyond this publicly available info, do any FTer's have some intell on the actual likely public opening date, rates and any other useful info about the casino and entertainment operations?
