Similar to some of the posts in the referenced thread, I had a project team that all checked into a hotel for about a yea - we negotiated a rate that allowed us to leave our stuff in the room over the weekend so we didn't have to unpack/pack everything twice a week. With local dry cleaning, I sometimes only took my laptop bag home over the weekend.
