Does anyone know how many customers actually pay the £10 (WT) or £60 (CW) to reserve seats? Say it's only 10% (surely it can't be more can it?), then why don't BA just add £1 and £6 to the cost of all seats; no one would even notice, they would get the extra few quid they are obviously desperate for and could then scrap this insane policy that may even be losing more revenue from disaffected (ex)customers than it generates. Then they could adopt a choose-seats-when-you-book policy (keeping back the choice seats for elites of course) like normal airlines.
