Qantas PE gives you noise cancelling headphones so that will help.

Obviously if you can get another seat during check-in it would be to your advantage, but if your current allocation is all there is then with headphones it won't be too bad.

(There may well be some Qantas Platinums or Golds who have applied for upgrades, or are upgraded if the flight is very full - so I would keep asking if anything better comes up - even at the gate...)

And the service is excellent - great wines and personal. So i woudn't worry too much.
