I've been put in 39D (Premier economy on the A380) on a SIN-LHR trip which looks really bad on SeatGuru. It's right next to the toilets and they say it has reduced pitch.
The minimum pitch will be 38' - they say some seats have up to 42.
Sitting right by the galley may be a bit disruptive, but I've been in the bulkhead on a 747 where the galley has been immediately in front and the noise was noticeable, but ok.
Qantas PE gives you noise cancelling headphones so that will help.
Obviously if you can get another seat during check-in it would be to your advantage, but if your current allocation is all there is then with headphones it won't be too bad.
(There may well be some Qantas Platinums or Golds who have applied for upgrades, or are upgraded if the flight is very full - so I would keep asking if anything better comes up - even at the gate...)
And the service is excellent - great wines and personal. So i woudn't worry too much.
