I am on EK 37 every month, including one trip last week. Our flight left about 15 mins late from Dubai but was almost an hour late arriving into Birmingham. Primary reason, as given by the pilot, was very stiff headwinds. The moving map display also showed 60+ mph headwinds all through with ground speed rarely exceeding 480-490 mph. The route was also a bit long- northwards right on the Iran - Iraq border, then a swing west over the mountains into Turkey.

My next trip is on Feb 22, am curious if anything changes by then.
