I was there in early December on an award stay...

1. Average. Nothing spectacular, but nothing so bad that it's memorable.

2. I don't remember the cost, only ate their once and it was marginal at best. The restaurant feels like a conference room that's been converted to serve food. The atmosphere really is lacking and the food isn't much better.

3. Lots and lots of nearby spots. Reasonably priced relative to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, no. There are spots where you can find some really good deals, but on average I think you'll find yourself spending quite a bit more than you're used to for comparable food in the states, let alone in Mexico.

4. The beach was in great shape. I'm not the type of person that likes to hang out at the hotel so I only spent one day down at that beach, but had a good time while I was there.

5. Ha, no, not even close. I had an ocean view room and could look down on the theme night beach events and they were very sad looking affairs for the most part. If there was live music and dancing things usually started to pick up around 10PM and last until midnight, but before 10PM there were rarely more than a handful of people at the event at any one time.

6. Not that I recall.

7. Yes, but you might have to ask for something good. I am plat and was there on an award stay. Had booked the basic room and was upgraded to a courtyard view before I arrived. After asking if there wasn't anything else they could do the friendly front desk person poked around and found me an ocean view room.
