I've taken non-status colleagues through as a guest on several times no problem.
If they're running 2 machines at T5S security usually one line will be shoes off and the other not in my experience.
And having just printed off tonight's boarding pass (UK Domestic not Business) - it now states "FAST TRACK" in large letter just under the barcode.
