My experience has always been the same as yours. UG'ed Platinum Guests do not receive all Club Benefits unless booked and paying for Club Level. Breakfast only in the Lounge.
Is this new? I have always received full Club benefits at the LM (when booking the cheapest room), but I haven't been recently.
