Just came to know from quite a few co-workers of mine (we all travel a lot for work) that this case indeed happens more often than not with respect to AVIS like they say the so callled 'Transponder' even though exists in the car and you use it, they claim it is not there in your car when you rented it and it got installed much later and with this argument they charge you. Infact you don't have a choice to prove that you indeed had a transponder. You need to pay up. Even without renting out the car, they are able to loot the money from you. Nice tactic. Isn't it?

so please be careful about this going forward especially with AVIS.
