It's absurd
LX seems to hate infants. Or make the best of exploring their presence onboard.
I realized it doing an award booking for the same GVA-JFK rtn where I was slapped with the fuel surcharge. Even the lady on the Sen line was apologetic about it.
Lufthansa does not have the fuel surcharge, but that would defeat the purpose of most direct route while flying with an infant.

Dispute the charges. It will only be corrected if enough people do it.
