Saving seats defeats the concept of "open seating" and WN is first come, first served...so last come, SOL. I can understaind family groups out of courtesy..but my BP number trumps that of anyone behind me. Period.
Could not have said any better. As much as i do like it if someone sits in the middle i NEVER wine or complain about if someone wans to sit next me i have two choices put up with it or move to another seat. Open seating is open seating.
AS far as kids and family seating I would be very surprised if anyobe gets upset about kids and wanting to sit next to their parents. But agree if you Board at Family Boarding then there should almost always be seats available.
