They work very well, have a separate USB A/D converter, so you can use them with any laptop with or without std mic/headphone sockets. They come in a useful box, but it is a little big.

Bluetooth has never really worked for me - I find the audio quality poor compared to a corded set, the earpieces more uncomfortable and then the problems with pairing, battery draining and ensuring it's always charged and ready to go. The only +ve is the size. Corded gear - plug in and go, anytime.
This is the same headset I use, and for the same reasons you mention- nothing worse than your headset battery failing on a long conference call!
I really like this Logitech headset- I bought mine in Miami airport from airport express for $50. It is great- and I actually use the box as I was continually destroying headsets in my laptop bag.
