I've only taken the camera tripod ( about 2ft high collapsed ) as hand luggage travelling CGK-SIN-CGK on SQ. It was attached to the side of the camera bag. When I've travelled through T5 to the US, I've had it in my suitcase as part of the checked baggage. Camera bag travels up top.
