During the winter, I certainly wouldn't bother with AC. Except maybe for concerts.

But as others mention, the beach is really gorgeous in warm weather. Also, it's fun to hop around the boardwalk from casino to casino, seeing if you run better somewhere else. If it weren't for the beach, there would be no reason even in summer to hit AC.
