Don't forget that once you get status, you'll get 25% mileage bonuses and such that help bumping to 1P next year.
The mileage bonuses (25% for Premier, 100% for Premier Exec and 1K) are on redeemable miles only, not EQM, so not clear how that would help you achieve 1P easier...
