The 11 is said to be a bit less forgiving than some other a/c, esp landing in non-ideal conditions. Excellent examples include the China Airlines and FedEx MD11 "landings" at Chep Lap Kok and Newark, respectively.

wideman - The MD-11 has a fuselage plug forward of the wing, and another aft. The intake for the #2 engine is different, more bulbous when viewed from the side. The horizontal stabilizer is also smaller and has the capability to hold fuel.
